Merry People

Farmer's Market to Functional Fashion.

Dani Holloway

CEO & Founder of Australian Rainboot brand Merry People.

Dani grew up on a farm in Nerrena (just outside of Leongatha) and moved to Melbourne for university and work. Seeking a city-appropriate rainboot and unable to find any she loved, Dani decided to have a go at creating her own and Merry People was born!

Merry People is challenging the traditional perception of the humble rainboot, revolutionising from an occasional boot to an everyday fashionable staple that can be worn city to country, morning to night, irrespective of the weather.

Merry People has developed a loyal customer base & large following in Australia and she has recently collaborated with fashion designer Karen Walker. Dani’s business has had 300% year on year growth over the last 5 years, she now has a team of 13 staff in Australia with distribution in Australia, the US & UK. In 2022, Dani was named in the Top 50 people in Australian eCommerce by Inside Retail (an industry body.)

Outside of Merry People, Dani is busy being a mother to 1-year-old Jack and 2-year-old labrador, Sadie. Her fiancé, Nick Pearce is the CEO and Co-Founder of Melbourne social enterprise, HoMie. A company that employs and trains young people experiencing homelessness.
